Folk Figure. She was married to Australian Prime Minister Alfred Deakin from April 3, 1882, until his death on October 7, 1919. She was a member of the Lyceum Club, National Council of Women (Victoria), Commonwealth Liberal Party, Free Kindergarten Union, and the Bush Nursing Association. She died in Point Lonsdale, Victoria, Australia, on December 30, 1934. In 1934 she was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE).
