Oil City Derrick, Monday, Jan 14 1974:
Gerald G. Hill, 79, of 1051 W. First St., died at 10:35 pm Saturday in Franklin Hospital. He was born at Hill City May 3, 1894, son of George and Elizabeth Moore Hill.

He graduated from Franklin High School, attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College, and Pennsylvania State University. He retired from Pennzoil in 1959 where he worked on the loading rack. He was school crossing guard at Smedley and West First Street for seven years, served as treasurer of the Cranberry Area School Board for 12 years, was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church, Oil City Lodge 710, F & AM, Venango Lodge of Perfection, and Coudersport Consistory.

He married July 14, 1921, to Laura Exley, who survives, with a daughter, Mrs. Robert L. (Joan) Dallas of Titusville; a sister, Mrs. Margaret B. Mark of Titusville; and two grandchildren, David and Jan Elizabeth Dallas of Titusville. Two sisters are deceased.

Services will be at Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Redfoot, pastor of Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
