Television Personality, narrator. Cowan is best remembered as the announcer for the Canadian television comedy shows, "The Wayne & Shuster Hour" in 1952, and "Wayne & Shuster" in 1954, among many other 'Wayne & Shuster' specials. Cowan also worked as a producer, writer, voice actor, for animated cartoons, films, documentaries, and news programs. Among them are, "Yoho: Wonder Valley" (1951), "Spider-Man" from 1967 to 1970, "Return To Oz" (1964), "The Daydreamer" (1966), "Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer" (1964), "Tales Of The Wizard Of Oz" (1961), "The Weaker Sex" from 1968 to 1969, "Frontiers To Guard" (1956), "Willie McBean & His Magic Machine" (1965), "The Sub-Mariner" (1966), "Mighty Thor" (1966), "The Marvel Superheroes" (1966), Iron Man" (1966), "Hulk" (1966), "Rocket Robin Hood" (1967), "Max The 2000 Year Old Mouse" (1967), and the announcer of the long-running news program "Front Page Challenge" beginning in 1957. Cowan died in Toronto, Ontario, on July 17, 1990, at the age of 68 of kidney disease, ironically one day before comedian Johnny Wayne of "Wayne & Shuster.'
