Princess, Marchioness, Countess. Charlotte Godefride Élisabeth de Rohan, daughter of Charles de Rohan, Prince of Soubise, and his wife Anne Marie Louise de La Tour d'Auvergne, was born at the Hôtel de Soubise in Paris. In 1739, after the death of her mother, she received the titles of Marchioness of Gordes and Countess of Moncha. Later, she received additional titles including, upon her marriage, Princess of Condé. Her wedding to Louis Joseph de Bourbon, Prince of Condé, took place at the Palace of Versailles on May 3, 1753. The new princess was one of the most important females at court. The marriage produced three children, two of whom survived to adulthood. However, the Princess of Condé died at the Hôtel de Condé in 1760, at the age of twenty-two. She was interred at the Carmelite convent of the faubourg Saint-Jacques.
