Claude G. BUCKS, 82, Kewanna, formerly of South Gate, Calif., died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1906 at Thornhope to John and Malinda BURNS BUCKS. He came from South Gate Dec. 4, 1988 to live with his nephew, Larry BUCKS, and family in Kewanna. On Feb. 13, 1951 in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Zelma BRADEN, who died July 20, 1988. He was a retired supervisor with General Motors Assembly Plant in South Gate. He was with the Merchant Marines during World War II, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Brea, Calif. Surviving are two sons, Robert [BUCKS], Glan Carbon, Ill., and C. William [BUCKS], Clarkesville, Tenn., and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, six brothers and a sister preceded in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna. Burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F.-Citizens Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. on Sunday. There will be graveside Masonic services.
