George E. Haswell, 89, prominent town of Windsor resident, died Monday at his home. President of the Windsor Cemetery association for many years, Mr. Haswell was an active member of the Windsor Congregational Church and served as its deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was born in California and came to Windsor with his parents when he was 6. Mr. Haswell would have observed his 90th birthday on Feb. 16 and his 57th wedding anniversary with his wife on Thursday. Survivors are his wife; a son Clement of Windsor; a daughter, Mrs. R. H. Ludden of Madison; 4 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Clayton of Wilmette; and a sister, Anna of Windsor. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 in the Windsor Congregational Church, the Rev. M. L. Kaseman officiating. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Friends may call at the Tuschen Funeral Home, Sun Prairie until noon Thursday when the body will be taken to the church. Capital Times 2/5/1952
