MARION - Mrs Margaret Evans Durham, until recently of Marion, died at her home in Charlotte, N. C., this morning, and will be brought to the old home for burial tomorrow.

Mrs Durham's death was unexpected to her numerous relatives here, who did not know that she was ill. She had reached an advanced age, and her health had been failing for several years, but she was thought to be as well as usual, and the news of her death was a shock.

She was the widow of the late Maj. S. A. Durham and a sister of Sheriff W. T. Evans. She has three sisters residing in Marion, Mrs Power, wife of Rev W. C. Power; Mrs A. M. Blue and Mrs Eliza Evans, and a large connection. She is survived by one son, Mr C. A. Durham of Atlanta, and two daughters, Miss Eunice Durham and Mrs Margaret Hall of Charlotte.

The funeral will be conducted in the Episcopal church here at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning.
