Cecil Paul Giboney was born January 14, 1895 in Middleburg, Kentucky (Casey County), son of James M. Giboney (1871-1935) and Lena Coulter (1875-1954).

The 1900 Federal Census for Liberty, Kentucky (Casey County) shows Cecil P. Giboney, age 5, born August 1871 in Kentucky; living with his father, James Giboney, a Circuit Clerk, age 28, born August 1871 in Texas; and his mother, Lena, age 25, born April 1875 in Kentucky. Also living in the household was Cecil's younger sister, Maynona, age 4, born March 1896 in Kentucky.

In about 1912, Cecil married Edna James, who was born in May 1894 in Texas, daughter of Robert Kirkland James (1851-1895) and Julia Ann Pittman (1853-1931). The 1910 Federal Census for Bokchito Ward 2, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Cecil, age 16, born in Kentucky; living with his father, James Giboney, working in real estate, age 35, born in Texas; and his mother, Lena, a dressmaker, age 35, born in Kentucky. Also living in the household were Cecil's two siblings: Maynona Giboney, age 14; and Coulter Giboney, age 8; both born in Kentucky.

The World War I Draft Registration Records show that Cecil Paul Giboney registered for the draft on June 5, 1917. He gave his full name as Cecil Paul Giboney; his age as 23; his occupation as a cook in Morris, Oklahoma in Pappas Café; and his marital status as married with two children.

The 1920 Federal Census for Tulsa, Oklahoma (Tulsa County) shows Cecil P. Giboney, a confectionary chef, age 25, born in Kentucky; and his wife, Edna, age 24, born in Texas. Living with them were two children: Pauline Giboney, age 6; and Floyd C. Giboney, age 4 years 5 months.

The 1930 Federal Census for Chicago, Illinois (Cook County) shows Edna Giboney, age 33, born in Texas; and her husband, Paul Giboney, a restaurant chef, age 35, born in Kentucky. Living with them were four children: Julia, age 17; Floyd, age 14; Eleanor, age 10; and Peggy, age 6, all born in Texas.

Edna died June 8, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois (Cook County) and was buried there in the Rose Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum. Her death was listed on the Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths Index, 1916-1947; however, some of the information contained there is incorrect, to include Edna's birth date and place and her mother's maiden name.

Cecil married Etta Sarah Rapier who was born March 23, 1902 in Bryce, Arizona (Graham County). The 1940 Federal Census for Pasadena, California (Los Angeles County) shows Cecil Paul Giboney, a restaurant co-proprietor, born in Kentucky; and his wife, Etta R., a restaurant co-proprietor, age 38, born in Arizona. Living with them were Etta's two children by her former marriage: Theodore Hall, age 16; and Gordon E. Hall, age 12; both born in Arizona.

Cecil Paul died August 15, 1966 in Los Angeles, California (Los Angeles County) and was buried there in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in (Hollywood Hills) in Los Angeles, California (Los Angeles County). Etta died October 2, 1976 and was buried by her first husband in Sunset Cemetery in Willcox, Arizona (Cochise County).
