Martha Caroline (Funk) Selle was the daughter of Henry and Mary Funk. She was the wife of George Joseph Selle. They were married in 1941. George died July 24, 1993.

MARTHA C. SELLE Scholarship
Mrs. Selle began teaching in the St. Marys Area School District in 1944 and was the first Elementary Principal. She was in charge of the elementary grades of the St. Marys Borough, Benzinger and Fox Township area. She was a dedicated teacher, spending much of her spare time with extra-curricular activities for her students. She retired in 1974. All who knew her will long remember her with respect and admiration. This scholarship established in her honor is a fitting tribute to Mrs. Selle as an educator and friend. Candidates must be a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and play an active role in their school and community. Applications are available through the office of the school.
