Betty was born in Fultonham, Ohio, in 1926. She married Roy in 1947 and in 1955 moved with her family to Whittier, Calif. There she worked in the electronics field, retired and moved to Lake Isabella in the early 1970s.
Betty is survived by her children, Robert J. Kinkade of Whitier, Calif., daughters Connie Claborn and Deborah Merrill of Jacksonville, Ore. and her loyal dog, Pepper. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty was an active member of the Women of the Moose, enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling. Her happiest times were spent with her many friends square dancing with the Dam Dancers. Recently she was presented with an honorary membership from the club in recognition and appreciation of her many years of square dancing. However, her most coveted award came from her family for being the best wife, mother and mamaw.
We will miss her outgoing personality, her fantastic sense of humor, laugh and her warm, loving spirit. She loved her family and we loved her back. We know that memories are forever and she will always live in our hearts. (Kern Valley Sun (Lake Isabella, CA) 8/17/2011)
