Author, Editor. He was married to writer Virginia Woolf. He was literary editor of Nation Athenaeum from 1923-1930. Leonard looked after his wife through all her periods of depression but sadly, Virginia committed suicide in 1941, but he remained the main director of the publishing house from its beginning until his death. He wrote several books, "Socialism and Co-operation" (1921), "After the Deluge" (1931), and "Principia Politica" (1953). He wrote the autobiographical works "Sowing" (1960), "Growing" (1961), "Beginning Again" (1964), "Downhill All the Way" (1966) and "The Journey Not the Arrival Matters" (1969).
