Fred Boekeloo HENNEPIN -- Fred Boekeloo, 77, of 412 Mulberry St., Hennepin died at 7 p.m. Sept. 28, 1998, in his residence after an extended illness.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Monee and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville. The Rev. Robert E. Sabo Jr. of Hennepin United Methodist Church will officiate in both locations. Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Cemetery in Monee.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in Monee.

He was born March 25, 1921, in Roseland to Frederick and Rika (Smith) Boekeloo. He married Martha Jordon in 1940 in Chicago.

He worked at Judd's Hennepin Boat Mart in Hennepin until his illness. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Hennepin United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Jerry Boekeloo of Hennepin; two daughters, Barbara Aurelio Gibson of California and Darlene Barnett of Hennepin; four sisters, Jeanette DeMick, Grace Housman, Rika Boomsma and Rolena Boekeloo, all from the Chicago area; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Born March 25, 1921, in Roseland to Frederick and Rika Smith Boekeloo, he married Martha Jordon in 1940 in Chicago. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jerry of Hennepin; two daughters, Darlene Barnett of Hennepin and Barbara Aurelio Gibson of California; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Jeanette DeMick, Grace Housman, Rika Boomsma and Rolena Boekeloo, all of the Chicago area.

He was preceded in death by two brothers. He worked at Judd's Hennepin Boat Mart until he became ill.

A World War II Navy veteran, he served in the South Pacific.

He was a member of Hennepin United Methodist Church.
