Revolutionary War Soldier. He served as an orderly at age 15 under General "Mad" Anthony Wayne. Isaac played a pivitol role in the storming of Stoney Point as follows: while struggling to remove defense branches for the invading troops of which he was a part, General Wayne seized Isaac by the seat and collar, and threw him over the abatis. He was thus able to clear a path for his fellow soldiers. Isaac also served at Valley Forge and Brandywine. He was taken prisoner at Ft. Washington in 1776, was imprisoned in the New York City Church prison, and in the Grosvenor ship prison from which he escaped. He was one of only four of his company to survive imprisonment of the latter. A physician by profession, Dr. Grant was also one of the first doctors in the country to begin the practice of vaccination. He moved to Albion, Michigan in 1835. Parents: Ebenezer & Martha (Hill) Grant. Marriage: Hannah Tracy, married March, 1784 in Sharon Springs, NY.
