Gertrude, as she was known by, was the daughter of Strother Hamilton Green and Florence Roselle Thomas. She first married Clarence Webster Womack in August 1926. They had a son named
Don L. "Donnie."
Her husband preceded her in death.

Gertrude married a second time to Hobson Henry "Hob" Jay (son of William M. Jay and Emma Dulcima Poyser) on 5 Oct 1940 in Alva, OK. She and her second husband had no children together.
