Isaac was a son of Wm. Bonaparte Steen and Mary Ann Jackson Steen. Feb. 14, 1871 he married Sarah A. Hagan. They had 3 children, Wm. Robert m.Leona Belle Borders, Henry Clay m. Mary Jane Simmons then ? Landrum, Wm. Bonaparte (Bill) (#2) m. Betty Jim Riddle. Spouse #2 of Isaac was Jeannie Marie (Jency) Eaton. they had 7 children, James Franklin m.Geneva ? #2 Inez Bell Doty, Thomas Wolford m. Alma Mae Bush, Mary Ellen, Charles Bascom m. Johnnie Beals Stewart, Tazwell Gee m. Mary Jane Owens, Peggy L. m. James G. Yokely, Alice Belle m. Oscar Howard Denton. Isaac's other wives #3 Rhoda Ann McGinnis & #4 Rhenie Susan Berry. Isaac was a carpenter building 150 houses, also a cattle buyer & farmer. Served with the Northern Troops during the Civil War Service - A 37 KY Inf - Rank Corp. It was reported to Isaac's grandson Edwin, by Ezra Maines a citizen of Tompkinsville, son of one of his fellow soldiers, that his friend Maines suffered a severe wound to an arm & it was apparent that the arm must be amputated. This operation was performed by Isaac. Ezra said he hacked his grandfather's arm off above the elbow with something. Isaac volunteered for military service with the North to avoid prosecution for setting the jail on fire in Thompkinsville, KY where the gorillas who ambushed his father Wm. Boneparte Steen had been captured & were being held.
