Roman Catholic Bishop. He served as the First Bishop of the Diocese of Camden, New Jersey, from 1937 to 1956. He was ordained as bishop in Saint Patrick's Cathedral, New York City, on March 25, 1938. Before becoming Bishop he was assigned as a priest in the New York Diocese. His motto was "Glory To God Alone".
