Judith Eileen Barak Zwahr, 63, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 9122 Church St. in Needville, Texas, with the Rev. Charles Tekyl officiating. Burial follows at the Needville Public Cemetery. Visitation is 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Garmany and Carden Funeral Directors in Needville.

Judy was born Dec. 30, 1944, in Pasadena, Texas, to Frank and Verna Suchma Barak. She was a 1963 graduate of Needville High School. She was married July 20, 1968, to Harley Zwahr, and they resided in Needville for 39 years. She was retired from the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Judy was involved in the Fort Bend County Fair where she was a lifetime member to help the youth. She was also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a lifetime committeemen member. In addition, she was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Verna Suchma Barak; and mother-in-law, Hilda Haar Zwahr.

Judy is survived by her husband, Harley Zwahr; two daughters, Rhonda Zwahr Firkins and husband, Mike, and Nicole Zwahr; two granddaughters, Haley Firkins and Kelsey Firkins; father, Frank Barak; sister, Diana Dockal; niece, Holly Dockal; father-in-law, Alwin Zwahr; two brothers-in-law, Charles Zwahr and wife, Joanie, and Allen Zwahr and wife, Kay; nephew, Jason Zwahr; niece, Abby Frank and husband, Wesley; great-nephew, Hagen Frank; and numerous family and friends.

Pallbearers are John J. Barak, Ken Northcutt, Bryan Northcutt, Jason Zwahr, Larry Cario and Clyde Raesner.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 389, Needville, Texas 77461, or to a charity of one's choice.
