Marjorie H. Whitaker, 84, formerly of Manor Drive, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born in Portsmouth on April 17, 1927, she was the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Pero) Brunette and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School.

Marjorie was employed at the York County Community Action Program. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.

The widow of Walter "Rollie" Whitaker, who died in 1990, she is survived by her grandchildren, Bryan Whitaker of Portsmouth, Timothy Whitaker and wife, Krystal, of Eliot, Maine, Gerald Whitaker of York, Maine; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Hunter; her brother, Ken Brunette and wife, Betty, of Rollinsford; her daughter-in-law, Donna Williams of Portsmouth and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Wayne Whitaker, in 2005.

Visiting hours will be held at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth, on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Berwick, Maine.
