H.C. Fisk Dies in Pasadena, Calif., Jan. 6.

Word has been received of the death, after a brief illness, of the Hon. H.C. Fisk on Friday, Jan. 6, at Pasadena, Calif. The funeral was held at that place on Monday, Jan. 9.
...Henry Clay Fisk was born in Morristown, July 22, 1852, a son of Moses and Rebecca (Ferrin) Fisk. In 1875 he married Belle M. Page of Hyde Park, who survived him. There were born to this union eight children, five of whom are now living, Mrs. D. H. [Mary Melvina] Scribner of Hyde Park, Mrs. N. K. [Lillian Ellen] Harrison of Paris, France, Carroll and Henry C., Jr., of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Alfred [Hazel Isabel] Simpson of Hartford, Conn.
...The greater part of Mr. Fisk's life was spent in Morrisville. He was educated at Peoples Academy and later studied law with his half-brother, the late Gov. George W. Hendee, with whom he formed a partnership which continued until the death of Governor Hendee. He represented Morristown in the Legislature of 1886-88, and was state senator 1888-90. From 1888 to 1894 he was a trustee of the State Reform School at Vergennes. In 1889 he was appointed by President Harrison as consul at St. Johns, Quebec, which office he held until 1893. Soon after Mr. Fisk's return from St. Johns he became associated in business with C. H. [Charles Herbert] Slocum. He was treasurer of the Warren Leather Co. from the time of the founding of that company until he sold out his interest some 15 years ago when he retired from active business. He has since spent a large part of his time in Florida and California, returning to Vermont for the summer seasons.
...The passing of Henry C. Fisk, although well advanced in years, comes as a shock to his Vermont friends. His business life and associations were in his native state, and as a staunch republican he was a familiar figure in conventions and a force that was appreciated in political matters. Everyone knew and liked Henry Fisk. His home was a place where his friends delighted to visit and he found time always to help in the best things in community life. While called to a milder climate because of impaired health, he never lost interest in his love for the Green Hills where he was born.
