BLOODWORTH Mr. Alexander Medford Bloodworth, Jr., age 91, of Sparta, died Monday, January 26, 2004, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born April 28, 1912, in Rocky Point, NC, to Alexander and Annie Johnston Bloodworth. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Duncan Bloodworth of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Alexander Medford Bloodworth, III of Durham, and Edwin and Laura Bloodworth of Sparta; two daughters, Dorothy Bloodworth Gilbert of Durham, and Gretchen Bloodworth Woodward of Woodstock, Georgia; one brother, Jesse Wilson Bloodworth of Rocky Point; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31st at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with burial in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will gather at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
