Letha Louise Wamsley Cogis, 72, of Henderson, went to be with the Lord very peacefully Tuesday, May 6, 2009 after a four-month battle with a kidney and liver infection at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A loving mother and grandmother, she was born Nov. 11, 1936 in Gallipolis, Ohio, to the late Simon Peter and Anna B. Turner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Ritchie Wamsley and Andrew Cogis; children, Veva Louise Brown and Simon Peter Wamsley; brother, Eulas Turner and sister, Mary Garwood.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Mike) Rainey of Apple Grove and Mary (Scott) Feilder of Gallipolis; sons, George Ricky Wamsley of Apple Grove and Johnnie Andrew
(Stacy) Wamsley of Southside; stepson, Gary (Lou) Cogis of Los Angeles, Calif.;

Grandchildren, Michael (Barbara) and Andrew Rainey, Jeana and Billijo Christy, Shana, Nicole, Johnnie, Megan and Jessie Nicholas, Samantha Wamsley, Amy Lynn (Justin)Williams, Jennifer Lynn Woods and Kara and Britney Klomp; great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Justin Rainey, Keaton and Johnathan Christy and John Wayne Baby Dunk Sturgeon.

Sisters, Marie Stephens of Stauntsville, Ohio, Oma Lee Juniper of Paintsville, Ohio, Ruth Lee of Gallipolis, Anna Williams of Aarat, N.C., and Bessie Gillispie of Geneva, Ohio;

Several nieces, nephews and special friends, Brian Sturgeon, Darlene Woods, Candy Klomp, Mary Jeffers, Bob Holcomb, the Walker Boys and many other dear and close friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9 at Deal Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Zopp officiating. Burial will be in Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
