Marjorie Hallie, Fourth child of Four of Charlie Baxter and Grace (Hubbard) Baldwin.

Sister of Vernard, Eulie Baxter Baldwin and Ethel L. (Woodcock).

Her Father passed away when she was Four, her Mother remarried and she was Step-daugher of Richard Baxter Williams, whom she said loved her as if his own and whom she loved.

When Marjorie was a little girl age six, one summer evening after dinner she was playing out in the yard. She said she looked up and saw a beautiful angel carrying a candle moving across the yard. Marjorie pointed and said "Look, isn't it so beautiful", her mother looked and saw nothing and asked her what she saw? She told her mother it was a beautiful angel. On that day she said she knew there was a heaven.

Marjorie was married and divorced twice. Her First marriage was to George Loving Haley, Jr., Three children from this union, of which Two are still living. Her daughter Linda passed away from Brain Cancer.
Her Second marriage was to William Murphy Cross.

She was an employee of Central National Bank as a Teller for many years and was working there at the time of her retirement.

She resided in a Senior complex on Hioaks Avenue for many years.

Marjorie was a living history book. She could tell you names, dates, places and stories of the family. She so enriched my life with her knowledge of the Hubbard family genealogy, as well as Baldwin and Price.
I will always be so grateful of my friendship with her and to be her cousin. I always enjoy visiting her when I was in the area.

Rest in Peace Marjorie.

Other Hubbard relations that are in Maury Cemetery as well,
