Roberta was born in Muncie Indiana, and about 1923 she, her mother Elizabeth YOUNG Brunner and sisters, Mildred and Lucille, moved to Los Angeles. The family enjoyed the warm SoCal climate after living in Muncie IN, and within a few years, she married Charles Calvin Wynkoop. They had one child, Robert born 1926, and both Robert and husband Charley were in WWII. During the war she worked in the defense industry and was also a Red Cross volunteer. Charley died 31 Dec 1952 of metastasized colon cancer. In 1959 she married a widowed neighbor, George Wissmann, a wonderful man. He died of leukemia in 1969 and Roberta lived alone until she died of type II diabetes in Oct. 1972. Roberta is buried in the Glenhaven Memorial Cemetery next to Charley, across from her father Charles Brunner and sister Lucille Brunner, hand daughter-in-law Estelle GORDON Wynkoop.
