"Provincial Livestock Commissioner Passes After Brief Illness. William T. McDonald, Livestock Commissioner for the Province of British Columbia, passed away last evening at St. Joseph's Hospital, following a brief illness. His death robs the Province of one of its foremost experts in animal husbandry and occasions a great loss to the ranks of agricultural authorities. The late Mr. McDonald was a graduate of Guelph Agricultural College and, at the time of his appointment as Provincial Livestock Commissioner, was attached to the faculty of the Washington State College as Professor of Animal Husbandry. He was a well-known figure at all the agricultural and livestock fairs throughout this Province, and had the distinction of representing British Columbia in an official capacity at many important rural fixtures in other parts of Canada and the United States. An unassuming but highly qualified official, Mr. McDonald was extremely popular among all the members of the Provincial Department of Agriculture. His ability and fair-mindedness went undisputed among those versed in rural sciences. Mr. McDonald was extremely well thought of by the stockmen of British Columbia and he will be missed. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Native Sons of Canada. He is survived by his widow, one son and three daughters; and was preceded in death by one son.
