Colonel Lucian Scott Breckinridge, 62, former commander of Company B, 308th Infantry, 77th Division, died yesterday(13 OCT 1941). Mr. Breckinridge was an assistant Corporation Counsel of the city. Burial will take place Thursday in the family plot at Lexington, Ky.

He was the descendent of a family prominent in the history of the State of Kentucky. Col. Henry Breckinridge, former Assisant Secretary of War, is his brother.

He served as Assistant District Attorney of New York County under Charles S. Whitman and the late Charles A. Perkins from 1910 to 1915. He served also as Special Assistant District Attorney under Mr. Perkins' successor, Edward Swann.

In the World War Col. Breckinridge went to France as captain of Company B. He was wounded and received the Distinguished Service Cross "for extraordinary heroism in action near Grand Pre, France", on Oct. 14, 1918.

He returned from overseas as major of the 3rd Battalion of the 308th Infantry. After the war he was a member of the law firm of Edwards, Breckinridge & Noble until he became Assistant Corporation Counsel.

He was a prominent member of the New York County Committee of the American Legion and in 1936 was in command of the C. M. T. C. regiment at Plattsburg Barracks, N. Y.

Surviving, besides his brother, is his widow, Mrs. Elinor Breckinridge.
