RIO - Julius M. Jameson, age 92, of rural Rio, Wisconsin, died peacefully at his home on Thursday afternoon, April 3, 1997. He was born on January 22, 1905, in the Township of Dekorra, the second oldest to James and Sena (Anderson) Jameson. He married the former Gladys Thompson on March 27, 1929 in Lodi, Wisconsin. He farmed in the Lodi area for many years. He worked at the Lodi Creamery for approximately four years. He and his family moved to Rio in 1945. He worked for the Peoples Telephone Co. for over 25 years before retiring. He was a member of Dekorra Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Gladys on March 4, 1979; a daughter, Shirley Leistikow in 1995; a sister-in-law, Shirley I. Jameson in 1994; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Jameson in 1996; a son-in-law, Richard R. Lang in 1989; a grandson, Richard Lang, Jr. in 1973; an infant grandson, Brian Jameson in 1960; three sisters, Aleda Schroder, Marie Curtis and Lillian Jameson; and a brother, Newton Jameson. He is survived by three sons, Marvin of Rio, Donald of Rio, and Julius Jr. (Janice) of Rio; a daughter, Gloria Lang of Rio; two brothers, Sidney of Rio and Reuben (Pearl) of Milwaukee; a sister, Victoria Jameson of Rio; a son-in-law, Russell Leistikow of Rio; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 7, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. Bruce Loewenhagen officiating. Burial will follow at the Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, April 6, 1997, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the VANGEN FUNERAL HOME in Rio and at the church on Monday after 10:00 a.m.
