Mrs. Lou Eads, 89, Iberia, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 1973 at the Woodcrest Nursing Home in Jefferson City. She was born April 27, 1884, in Miller County near Iberia, the daughter of John and Sarah (Watkins) Bond. She was married on May 9, 1909, to James A. Eads who preceded her in death Nov. 26, 1969.

Mrs. Eads lived all her life in the Iberia area where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a charter member and Past Matron of the Iberia Chapter 537 Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, James W. Eads, Iberia, and Ford Eads of Hamilton Square, N.J.; five daughters, Mrs. Vera Atwill and Mrs. Dean Woolery, both of Iberia, Mrs. Mary Hemenway, Eureka, Calif., Mrs. Catherine Adams, St. Louis, and Mrs. Veta Claiborn of Jefferson City; one sister, Mrs. Louise Thompson of St. Louis; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Eastern Star services were held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Iberia with Rev. A.O. Shearer and Rev. Perry Wolfe officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Bluford von Gremp, James Mote, Raymond Gardner, Ralph Herx, Randy Malmberg, Tom Humphrey and Arthur Setser.
