The inscription reads; In memory of Nancy Hieronymous who departed this life the 2nd day of September 1823 aged 22 years. "She flourished, grew sweet to the senses. And lovely to the eye, Till death the foul spoiler came crop'd the fair rose and rifled all its sweetness. Then threw it like a loathsome used away. But who hath the comet blaze (remainder missing)
