Actress. A well-liked Indian child performer, she shall be remembered as "the RaSna girl" for her television commercials publicizing a popular soft drink of that name. The child of well-off parents she lived in Bombay and made her silver screen debut in the 2003 "Koi Mil Gaya". Taruni appeared in the Malayalam language features "Vellinakshatram" and "Sathyam" (both 2004) but was to become familiar to television audiences via her advertisments for around 50 different products and companies including Colgate and the ICICI Bank. The RaSna ads with her tag line "I love you, RaSna" were ubiquitous and made her a household name and the country's highest paid child star while her best known movie role was to be that of a student in the 2009 Hindi comedy drama "Paa" which deals with progeria, the disease of premature aging. Taruni was killed along with her mother in the crash of Agni Air Flight CHT as it was attempting to land at Jomsom, Nepal. (bio by: Bob Hufford)
