She died on April 30, 1997, at St. Benedict’s Center Nursing Home in St. Cloud, MN.
She was born July 25, 1918, to the Rev. Frederick W. Beisser and Amelia (Heyer) Beisser in Plymouth, and was the youngest of seven children. Following the death of her mother, she moved to Sheboygan and lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Andy Andersen.
She graduated from Central High School, Sheboygan, in 1936.
She married Carroll E. Rusch, a professor at Mission House College (now Lakeland College) at Campbellsport on June 28, 1939.
During her life, she was active in her church both directing and singing in choir, and serving as president of the Presbyterian Women’s organization. While living in Superior, she served as a deacon in the Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church.
She had lived in Eau Claire since 1984.
Survivors are her children, Fred, of Terre Haute, IN; Sandra Hofsommer, St. Cloud, MN; Peg Hammer, Des Moines, IA; and Katherine K. Rusch, Lincoln, OR; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Harriet Beisser and Mary Wendlandt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Karl, Calvin and Fred; and her sisters, Ruth, Esther and Alma.
Interment took place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
