He was the great grandson of Robert Easley I and the grandson of one of Robert Easley I's sons.

Robert's wife was a cousin, Ann Easley, not Ann Stephens. She was the daughter of Daniel Easley and Ann David. This information was given me by John A. Brayton, an esteemed genealogist, who has not only written many genealogical books, some with John Frederick Dorman, but he is also a descendent of Robert and Ann Easley.
