William Douglas Mayfield was born near Industry, IL, in Jan. 1852. His parents were John Mayfield and Sabrina Osborn. He was married three times. First to Cynthia Stevenson. They had three children -- Wesley, Charles, & Ernest. Charles & Ernest died as children. His second wife was Margaret Gobble. They had Ada, Laura, and Elbert. Elbert died in a zinc mine accident. His third wife was Lucy Ellen Green Stanislaw. They married about 1890. Their children were Anna, Dollie, Joseph Edgar, Herbert, Benjamin Cecil, Mary, Marie, Mable, Noel, and Mavis.
