Albertha Mary Disney was born on February 20, 1869, in Huron, Ontario, the child of Kepple Elias and Mary J (Richardson) Disney. She married John Charles Fremont Johnson on February 5, 1891, in Ellis, Kansas. They had three children during their marriage, Juanita Mildred, Willard Allen and Wallace Milton. Albertha was also Walt Disney's aunt. She died on May 17, 1954, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 85, and was buried there.
