Andrew McGuire (date and location of birth unknown) was a member of Captain William Clarke Quantrill's Confederate Raiders during the Civil War. After the war, he became a member of the James Gang, and was a suspect in the Liberty and Richmond, Missouri bank robberies, of 1866, and 1867, respectively. He was captured in late 1867 but Ray County authorities and placed in in the Richmond jail. During his incareration, he implicated James M. Devers as being one of those responsible for the Richmond robbery. On March 17, 1868, a vigilance committee broke into the jail, removed McGuire and Devers and hanged them from a tree on the outskirts of town. Their bodies were cut down the next day at noon and buried in unmarked graves at the cemetery.
