Body of Man Found Near Freight House Identified By Note
The man found dead on the river bank near the Great Northern freight house Thursday was identified Friday night by county officers. Under the name of Fred Seifert he had served nearly 60 days in the county jail on a vagrancy charge, being released five days ago. After his release, Seifert asked county officers to help him find work. They suggested he try Columbus hospital and gave him the name of the sister superior whom he was told to see. This note on the dead man led to his identification. He was 52 years old and was born in Illinois. It is believed he has relatives living in Chicago.
