Mildred A. Froehlich was born at Bertha, Minnesota. She graduated from Bertha High School in 1933 and attended Teachers College at Wadena, MN. She taught school at Ada, MN.
Clarence McIntire and Mildred Froehlich were married May 9, 1936 at Bertha. They farmed in rural Bertha until 1947 and then moved to Florence, SD. In 1953 they moved to rural Tolstoy and in 1959 onto a Leola S.D. farm. She taught rural school at Leola one year. They retired in 1971 spending winters in Brownsville, Texas. Mildred was a member of Lutheran Women's organizations and extension clubs in Potter and McPherson Counties. She was a past 4-H leader and a founder of the Senior Citizens Club in Leola. Survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
