Myra, "Nellie" was the daughter of Elmer Mickel and Wealthy Mary Jane Cartwright, daughter of the famous pioneer preacher, Rev. Peter Cartwright, of whom much has been written. Rev. Peter Cartwright was the son of Revolutionary War veteran, Peter Cartwright, Sr. Both of her parents, Elmer and Wealthy, as well as her grandparents, Rev. Peter Cartwright and Frances Gaines are buried in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Cartwright Township, Pleasant Plains, Sangamon County, Illinois.

"Mrs. Nellie Frogley, 73 years old, a resident of North Craig county and Chetopa, Kansas, died at her home in Chetopa Saturday morning after a long illness from old age complications. She is survived by a son, Richard Frogley of Chetopa, and seven grandchildren. Nellie Mickel was born in Sagamon county, Illinois, on January 26, 1862, and was married to Israel Frogley in Illinois on January 26, 1882. They settled in Craig county in 1885, on a lease west of Welch, where Mr. Frogley engaged in the cattle business for many years. The family moved to Chetopa in 1888. Funeral services were held November 24. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery by the side of her husband who passed away about 20 years ago.
