Dorothy M. Tatro, 88, resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home died at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, New York on June 9, 2012 where she had been a patient since June 7, 2012.

Born on February 29, 1924 in Malone, she was the daughter of Willard and Elizabeth Gonyea Revette. Her parents predeceased her.

Dorothy made her home in Malone. She attended local schools. In Notre Dame Church, on February 14, 1942 she was married to Clifton W. Malette by Rev Arthur Derouchie. He predeceased her on December 16, 1970. On August 11, 1982 she was married to John "Jack" Tatro by Father Arthur LaBaff. He predeceased her.

For 20 years she and Clifton owned and operated a farm in North Bangor, New York. They then owned and operated the Breezy Acres Motel in Malone for 5 years. After the death of her husband, she was employed by the housekeeping department at the Alice Hyde Hospital for 13 years.

Dorothy was very involved in the community. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Notre Dame Rosary Society since 1971, 20 year member of the Moose Lodge, member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Sunshine Club. She was an RSVP volunteer, worked at the St. Vincent De Paul store for 10 years, and called Bingo for several different clubs.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary Malette of Maple Street in Malone; her grandson and his wife, Chris and Michelle Malette and great granddaughter Sydney Malette of Tampa, Florida; her granddaughter and her husband Tamara and Brian Cowan and great grandsons, Zachary and Nathan Cowan of Churubusco, New York. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is also predeceased by four children: son, Ronald Malette; daughter, Linda Landry; and two daughters, Barbara Ann and Phyllis Malette who died in infancy. Four sisters: Frances Termini, Mildred Davis, Ruth Allen, and Joyce Revette, and one brother: Norman Revette also predeceased her.

There will be no calling hours. A Christian Memorial Service will be held at Notre Dame Church on Monday June 18,2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at St. Augustine's Cemetery, North Bangor, NY. Donations in her memory can be made to the Malone Adult Center or in the form of dedicated masses at local churches.Arrangements are through St. Mary's Funeral Home.
