Mexican Campaign Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during the 1914 Vera Cruz, Mexico Campaign in the United States Navy as a Seaman on board the battleship “USS Florida”. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery on April 21 and 22, 1914. His citation reads simply “for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico”. His Medal was issued on June 15, 1914.
