Deceased Name: Rev. LC Almon

ALMON Rev. LC Almon, age 76, suddenly January 13, 1999. Retired from Grossman & Sons and North American Rockwell. He was a member of Hebrew Baptist Church. He was the founder and Pastor of Flintridge Baptist Church and later was called to Pastor St. Paul Baptist, where he faithfully served for over 28 years. Pastor Almon formed several Gospel singing groups, the Sons of Zion Almonairs, Silver Bells and the Gospel Silhouettes. Prior to being a minister he was affiliated with Scottish Rite York Masons, Master Lodge 62 A.F.N.A.M. Preceded in death by his parents Lois Almon and Lewis Charles Ridley. Survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Leddie B. Almon; daughter, Katherine Valentine; sons, Jay (Sally) Almon, Charles Almon, Larry (Pat) Almon, and Billy Almon; sister-in-law, Marian Bibbs; brother-in-law, Robert (Betty) Blount; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; close friends, R. Dean Rogers, Elder Way Spikes, Eugene Morgan and Louis Beasley; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends. Funeral Monday, 8 p.m., at Hebrew Baptist Church, 1338 Gault St. Rev. Melvin O'Neil, Officiant. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by C. D. WHITE & SON FUNERAL HOME.
