Harold R. Jakubowski, 81, of 501 N. Silverleaf St., Gladwin, died Thursday, Dee. 13, 1990, in the MidMiehigan Regional Medical Center-Midland, after a short illness. Born in Detroit, Nov. 18, 1909, he moved to Gladwin County in 1921 from Detroit. Mr. Jakubowski owned the Western Auto Store until retiring in 1975. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He sang in the church choir since 1948 and was Sunday School superintendent for 14 years. Mr. Jakubowski and the former Nelda Foor were married June 24, 1936, in Gladwin.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Colleen) Ortenburg of Harbor Beach; 2 granddaughters and 3 great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers.

Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Our Savior Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Dengler officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice or the church parking lot paving fund. Gladwin County Record dated 12-19/1990 Column – 2 Page – 2.
