H.O. Akin Jr., age 66, passed away Wednesday June 27th at his home on Lake Brownwood.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born January 3, 1946 in Flagstaff, Arizona to H.O. and Donnie Akin.

Pete grew up in Big Lake, Texas, where he spent time working in the oil field. He was self employed the majority of his adult life.
He moved to Lake Brownwood in 2001 to be close to his family. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his friends and family.

He was an active member of the 12 step program. His devotion to the program helped change countless lives.

He is survived by daughter Melanie Haile and husband David, of Comanche; son Trey Akin and wife Kim, of Comanche; daughter Melissa Summers and husband Tyson, of Comanche; one brother, Paul Akin, of Big Lake, Texas; grandchildren, Malaena Haile, Mallory Haile, Chance Akin, Aaron Akin, Eric Akin, Nathan Halk, Madison Taylor, and Hayden Milburn; great grandchild, Zaylee Haile; and nieces, Ashley Graf and April McCarthy. He was preceded in death by his parents H.O. Akin and Donnie Akin
