WILLIAM PAULL

William Paull, 74, of Gladwin, died Friday, July 12. 1996 at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center - Gladwin. Born July 24, 1922 in Highland Park, he came to Gladwin in 1971 after retiring from the city of Detroit as a police officer. Mr. Paull was a veteran of World War II and was post commander of the Gladwin County American Legion Post 171. He was also a member of the Gladwin Eagles Aerie 3292. Mr. Paull married the former Jane Anderson McTavish Reid April 24, 1948 in Detroit. She preceded him in death June 18, 1982.

Surviving are 2 sons, William J. of Gladwin, and Bruce A. of St. Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter, Lynn Sheryl Jones of Gladwin; her mother-in-law, Jane Reid of Gladwin; 3 brothers, Henry of Farmington Hills, Earl of Florida, and Fred of Maryland; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters.

Rites were held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin. Chaplain Joseph White officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. The American Legion Post 171 had a memorial service Sunday evening at the funeral home and also conducted the graveside services with the Gladwin Area VFW Post 11256.
