Freeman Nathan Kaseman
COAL TOWNSHIP — Freeman N. Kaseman, 87, formerly of 201 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Mountain View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he was a guest since November.
Born in Shamokin on June 6, 1920, he was a son of the late Freeman and Carrie (Badman) Kaseman, and stepson of Charles Startzel, who raised him.
He attended Shamokin area schools.
Mr. Kaseman served as Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Islands.
He was married to his first wife, Lydia, for many years until her death. In 1980, he married the former Nancy Cousins, who passed away in May 2004.
Mr. Kaseman had several interesting jobs during his lifetime. Among them were pin boy for the Shamokin Elks, rail car loader for Susquehanna Coal Co. and finally as an examiner for the Arrow Shirt Co.
He was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Shamokin.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Linda Cousins and Nancy Lee Luckowski; two nieces, Marian Klingerman and her husband, Jack, and Carol Gallagher, and one nephew, Rowell "Skip" Casari.
KASEMAN - Freeman Nathan Kaseman, 87, of 2050 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, formerly of 201 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont is in charge of arrangements
