Dorothy T. Becker age 83 of Monroe, died at her home on Monday, July 9, 2012 with her family by her side.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Michael Becke of Minnetonka, MN, Gary (Susan) Becker, and Thomas (Christina) Becker, all of Monroe; five grandsons, Ryan, Dan, Jon, Benjamin, and Noah Becker; five brothers, Roger (Marilyn), Fran (Florence), Bobby (Carol), Leonard, and John (Kathy) Gonzagowski; and a sister, Virginia Marousek.
She was preceded in death by husbands, LaVerne Weirich and Richard Becker; her parents, Frank and Lottie Gonzagowski, a brother, Stanley; and a sister, Catherine Hite.
Dorothy Gonzagowski was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on August 16, 1928 and graduated at the top of her class from Baraboo High School. On January 7, 1950 she married LaVerne Weirich who died in December, 1953. She married Richard E. Becker on November 3, 1956 in Baraboo. They moved to Monroe in 1959 until moving to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas in 1993. Dorothy and her husband moved back to Monroe in 2000 to be closer to family. Richard died on March 13, 2003.
Dorothy lived a full life. She was an active member of St. Victor Catholic Church where she helped on the funeral luncheon committee. She was a member of the Stateline Square Dancers, enjoyed playing bridge, and was an avid golfer. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Monroe Veterinary Service for 20 years. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandsons who she was very proud of.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe.
