Burl W. Hardesty, 71, a native and resident of Delaware County most of his life, died Tuesday, September 6, 1960, at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. A member of the Moose Lodge, Mr. Hardesty owned the Hardesty Trucking Co. for nearly 40 years before retiring. Surviving are a daughter, Christine (Mrs. Robert Leverton), Lantana, Fla., a step-son, Ernest Lanning, Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Charles Wiggins, Miami, Fla., and Don Lanning and Barbara (Mrs. Charles Whitenack), both of Muncie, and six great-grandchildren. Entombment is in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
