A school teacher for many years, she taught at Goodwill and Montcalm. She was a graduate of Matoaka High School and Concord College, and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, DAR, UDC, Arts and Crafts Guild, Rose Garden Club.
She lived on the land that was the original grant to Richard Bailey on Black Oak Road and worked throughout her life recording the genealogy of her family.
She was the mother of Leland Bailey Lacy, and the beloved wife of Robert Lacy. She was the sister of Otie Harrison Bailey (Mar-Oct 1906), Aubrey Crockett Bailey, Lucien Percy Bailey, and Janie Meryleen Bailey.
