Special to the News.

BISBEE, Arizona, March 8 - The town of Naco, on the border; was thoroughly aroused yesterday, when the news went out that a murder and suicide had been committed and James Parks and Agnes Parks were lying dead at the house of Ben Goldman. Both were residents of Bisbee, where they have lived for the past year, the man being an engineer for the Copper Queen mine. They were married about two years ago at Globe.

Parks went to Naco Monday morning, driving from Bisbee, where he hired a livery team. She had left him a few weeks ago, and was living with a niece at Naco. He went to the house where she was staying, and, after repeatedly requesting that she return to him, and, being refused, he pulled out a big 44 caliber revolver, and as the wife rushed into the back yard, he followed and shot her. The bullet entered her back, near the spinal column, and ploughed through the body.

He then turned the revolver against himself, blowing out his own brains. His wife lived for several hours, and died in terrible agony. Parks was much older than his wife, and was insanely jealous of her. He was formerly the representative of Graham county in the legislature, and was part Indian. He was influential at Globe as a leader of the miner's union. He was about 30 years old. His wife was highly respected, and had many friends. He had completed every plan for his funeral.
