Melissa was born to James Billingsley b 1806 Ohio and Sarah Peters b 1810 Virginia. She had 7 brothers and sisters: Caroline b 1833 Ohio, Sarah b 1837 Ohio, James b 1839 Ohio, Leah b 1840 Ohio, Isaac b 1842 Ohio, Rebecca b 1844 Ohio and George b 1847 Ohio.

Melissa married John Christopher Armstrong on 01 Sep 1863. John C Armstrong had changed his name and was going by Drewer C Iverson. They made their home in Deersville, Harrison County, Ohio. Around 1873 they moved to Connelsville, Pennsylvania. They had four children together: Ida b 1859, Effie Eleanor b 1865, Maud Spencer b 1867 and William Graham b 04 May 1871.

John passed away in Connelsville Jun 1881. By 1893 Melissa and her daughters were living in Chicago, Illinois.

Melissa passed away in Chicago 29 Jul 1907.

We contacted the cemetery and was told that Millie's was cremated and her ashes returned to the family
