Mrs. Dorothy L. Carson, 89, of Clearfield and a guest at Mountain Laurel Nursing Center, Clearfield, died Sunday, Nov. 5, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 30, 1900, in Clearfield, the daughter of Sheridan and Susie (Ross) Lippert, she wed James H. Carson in 1944.
Survivors include daughter Mrs. Melva McKenrick of Clearfield, stepdaughters Mrs. Elsie Crandell and Mrs. Thelma Guelich, both of Clearfield, stepson Clarence Carson of Clearfield, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and step-great- grandchildren along with brother Preston Lippert of Binghamton, N.Y., and sister Gertrude Rougeux of Holly Hill,
Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1961, and two brothers.
Mrs. Carson was retired from Clearfield Hospital and was a lifetime member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Wolf Run, where she was a teacher and church pianist for many years.
She was a graduate of Nyack Bible College, Nyack, N.Y., and she was the originator of the first summer Bible school in the Clearfield area.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with the Rev. Duane White. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. and until the service Wednesday.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church building fund.
